Some have said that the future of society lies in the hands of the youth. The changes and innovations that will take this world into the next century lies with the youth. However, if today’s society is not able to properly take care of the youth, then what hope is there for the future? This is where Eric Youn comes in. He has dedicated his career, his life in providing quality service for the youth as a social worker. Over the years, he has made his mark with different organizations and programs that benefit youth such as myself.
Before all this, Eric Youn got his Bachelor’s Degree in English at the University of Houston. He later accomplished his Masters of Science in Social Work Degree with the University of Texas. In 2007, Eric Youn got his Doctorate of Philosophy at the same university.
While Eric Youn was studying, he has began working with several organizations as well such as Center for Social Work Research of the University of Texas, Arrow Project, and my school, the American YouthWorks Charter School to name a few. He has also had several presentations about social work over the years such as Faculty Development Institute – Teaching and Learning Online in Social Work Education, Pitfalls and Problems in Distance Education Modalities and The Relationship Between Technology Content in a Masters of Social Work Curriculum and Technology Use in Social Work Practice: A Qualitative Research Study.

Eric Youn currently works as a Professor at the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa – School of Social Work. Previously Eric Youn had numerous academic appointments at the University of Texas at Arlington – School of Social. Mr Youn was an Adjunct Professor there during the summer of 2005 where Eric taught the courses “Human Behaviors and Diverse Populations – SOCW 3317 (BSW)”, “Generalist Micro Practice – SOCW 5304 (MSW)” and “Technology in Social Work Practice – SOCW 5319 (MSW/BSW)” for multiple semesters since 2005.
Apart from his academic appointments at the University of Texas at Arlington – School of Social Work, Eric Youn currently teaches at the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa – School of Social Work for multiple semesters. Courses include “Introduction to the Scientific Method and Research Principles in Social Work – SW 640 (MSW) – distance ed.” among others. “Research Methods in Social Work – SOWO 30813 (BSW)” and “Generalist Practice with Diverse Populations – SOWO 40893 (BSW)” were taught as an Adjunct Professor at the Texas Christian University – School of Social Work.
